CYCLO-SPORTIVE STAGE: A CHALLENGE IN THE HEIGHTS
Action on two wheels moves to San Salvador de Jujuy on Sunday for the cyclo-sportive stage of 130 kilometers with an average of 1414 meters. Competitors must also get to the Mountain Port and Sprint Point.
The meeting place will be Belgrano Square at 9 am across the Cathedral and the government’s house of the city of San Salvador de Jujuy. The second stage will start from there and will go to Villa Jardín de Reyes on Provincial Road 4.
The first challenge to be overcome will be located at kilometer 12 where the Mountain Port starts; it is about 10 kilometers uphill in a maximum point of 1727 meters high. The fastest will receive an award in the end of the stage.
After this and crossing the first hydration point, competitors will return to the city in a downhill road that will allow them for high speed. After crossing Córdoba Avenue, they will go to Provincial Road 2 towards La Almona.
Closet o Kilometer 53, competitors will find a complete supplying point so that then it will go to a hilly track in an imposing landscape of the north.
After surrounding El Paño hill and going through La Hoyada, La Toma and San Antonio by crossing Río Perico, competitors will get to the National Road 9 by bordering La Ciénaga dam where a new and Complete Supplying point is and then they will return to El Carmen, on the way to the capital of the province.
When getting to kilometer 100 of the competition, the second challenge of Stage 2 will be located in Virgen del Carmen: Sprint Point, which will determine the fastest of La Etapa Argentina by Le Tour de France 2015.
The final 30 kilometers will have a constant uphill until Los Alisos dam where there will be a hydration point and from there it will go progressively downhill until 1273 meters which will mean the arrival to Belgrano Square and the end of the competition.
